MUERTE BRILLANTE - Patterned Shirt - GERMENS
The Colorful Skulls of Mexico
The colorful skulls of Mexico, also known as "Calaveras," are an important part of Mexican culture and folklore. They are often associated with "Día de los Muertos" (Day of the Dead), a traditional celebration that takes place on November 1st and 2nd. The Day of the Dead is a time when families come together to honor their deceased loved ones and support their spiritual journey.
Calaveras and the Day of the Dead
Calaveras are often brightly painted and decorated with vibrant patterns and designs. These colorful skulls represent joy and life, and are meant to portray death as a natural and inevitable part of the life cycle. They help to accept death and overcome the fear of it.
Art and Fashion
The colorful skulls of Mexico are also widespread in art and fashion and have inspired artists, designers, and craftsmen from around the world. In recent years, they have gained popularity in pop culture and have become a symbol of the lively Mexican culture and tradition.

About GERMENS
GERMENS artfashion – art to wear
GERMENS is more than just fashion. It is an extraordinary concept that combines art, individuality and sustainability. Since it was founded in 2010, GERMENS has stood for wearable works of art – each item of clothing is created in collaboration with international artists and is absolutely unique in its design.
Why GERMENS? Because we rethink fashion. Instead of producing mass-produced goods, we manufacture exclusively to order or in small, limited editions. This reduces overproduction, conserves resources and makes every GERMENS piece something special. Our fabrics come from Saxony and are made into high-quality shirts, blouses and T-shirts in Europe – with attention to detail and precision craftsmanship.
GERMENS stands for exceptional designs that emphasise the character of the wearer. For quality that you can feel. And for an attitude that sees fashion as an expression of personality and culture.
GERMENS is fashion for people who don't want to look like everyone else – but like themselves.
Who is GERMENS?

René König - founder, designer, visionary
René König is the founder and owner of GERMENS. He has been working as a freelance designer and exhibition organiser since 1992. In 2010, together with the artist Gregor-T. Kozik founded the GERMENS brand – with the vision of designing and offering exceptional artists' shirts.
To this day, René König manages the GERMENS business and is the creative head of the brand. In addition to the numerous designs by international artists, he creates most of the designs himself – always with the aim of making art wearable and fashion unique.

What is special about GERMENS?

extravagant artist designs
René Koenig and numerous external artists create their designs directly on special templates that correspond exactly to the cuts of GERMENS clothing. The result is a surface design that fits perfectly on every item of clothing – an interplay of art and fashion in perfect form.

Exclusive designs - printed to fit perfectly
GERMENS only uses its own designs, which are only available here. For each garment – in every size from XS to 6XL – the pattern pieces are printed individually and accurately on high-quality cotton fabric.
The fabric is then finished so that the colours remain permanently brilliant, the fabric is washable, suitable for everyday use and comfortable to wear – without any unpleasant odours.

Careful cutting by hand
GERMENS only produces what has actually been ordered. This is very sustainable and ensures lasting value. After printing, the fabrics are cut to size – in the traditional way, by hand. The skilled worker is visually orientated to the design and cuts each piece individually. The result is a perfect fit in which art and cut interact perfectly.

Careful manufacture in the factory
After cutting, the many individual pieces are sewn together in a Polish family business with great care and many years of experience. High-quality finishing details – such as finely stitched edges or buttons with handles – and fine fabrics guarantee that every GERMENS garment will give you long-lasting pleasure.Who wears GERMENS?
