MIRCO NONTSCHEW

Mirco Nontschew † was a German comedian, actor and musician who became known for his unique blend of wordplay, noise imitations and slapstick. Born in East Berlin in 1969, he gained great popularity in the 1990s as an ensemble member of the comedy show RTL Samstag Nacht. His talent for quick punchlines and acrobatic performances made him one of the outstanding comedians of his generation. After his breakthrough, Mirco Nontschew remained an integral part of the German comedy scene, appearing in numerous TV shows and films and most recently starring in the Amazon Prime series LOL: Last One Laughing. His manager Bertram Riedel (TOBER), who also drew for GERMENS, brought him into contact with the visual arts for the first time. Under his guidance, Nontschew ventured into larger graphics with paint and brushes for the first time, which ultimately became the template for the GERMENS shirt ACRYLITY. 

His sudden death in December 2021 caused great consternation in the entertainment industry. The official cause of death was announced later, and many of his companions bid him an emotional farewell. An obituary and further details can be found in the Stern article.
